Bid Engineer: from tender to bid package
A system for preparing tender responses: organise the requirements, check existing drafts, and prepare a branded draft package for the team to complete and review.
The purpose
A bid team needs to turn a long tender into a clear response under a deadline. Existing material has to be checked against the requirements and assembled into a consistent package.
How it works
Tender and drafts
Add the requirements, existing material, and bid details.
Requirements check
Compare the drafts with a configured checklist and flag gaps.
Draft package
Prepare the documents needed for that bid stage.
Team review
Check, complete, and approve the response before submission.
My part
I designed and built the intake, requirements checks, and document preparation workflow.
The draft package
Depending on the bid stage, the package includes an execution-plan template, a requirements-check report, a duration-summary template, and a procedures register in Word, PDF, or Excel.
In practice
In use, it substantially reduced the first drafting pass. The bid team still reviews and completes the response before submission.
The checklist flags topics for review. The team checks technical accuracy and compliance before sending the bid.
